The puzzling owner of Zara only kick out Jeff Bezos to turn a second-richest chairman in a world.
Amancio Ortega claimed a No. 2 mark on a list of a world’s richest people on Tuesday, Forbes reported. Amazon owner and CEO Jeff Bezos — who only final week kick out Bill Gates to quickly explain a title of a richest male in a universe — forsaken to a No. 3 position.
Bezos’ dump is due to Amazon batch fluctuations, as a ecommerce company’s batch has fallen nearly 5% given final Thursday. As of Tuesday afternoon, Forbes estimates Ortega’s net value to be $85.5 billion, compared to Bezos’ estimated net value of $84.6 billion.
Despite Ortega’s huge wealth, many people have never listened of him. Ortega is an impossibly private man, is frequency seen in public, and has given only a handful of interviews via his impossibly successful career.
That career began when Ortega founded fast-fashion hulk Zara with his then-wife Rosalia in 1975. Today, his sell association Inditex SA — that owns Zara, Massimo Dutti, and PullBear — has 7,385 outposts around a world.
While Ortega is immensely private, we do know a satisfactory volume about him. Here’s all we need to know about a richest male in fashion.
