(Adds comments from BPI, no evident criticism from ABC)
June 28 (Reuters) – Beef Products Inc has staid its
defamation and defame fit opposite American Broadcasting Co and
its contributor Jim Avila, a beef processor pronounced on Wednesday.
BPI had claimed ABC, a section of Walt Disney Co, and
Avila defamed a association by regulating a tenure “pink slime and
making errors and omissions in a 2012 stating on what the
company calls a “lean finely textured beef” product. The terms
of a allotment were not disclosed.
“While this has not been an easy highway to travel, it was
necessary to start rectifying a mistreat we suffered as a result
of what we believed to be inequitable and groundless stating in
2012,” South Dakota-based BPI pronounced in a statement.
“Through this process, we have again determined what we all
know to be loyal about Lean Finely Textured Beef: it is beef,
and is safe, wholesome, and nutritious.”
ABC did not immediately respond to a ask for comment.
