A "Shark Tank"-style representation foe is assisting prisoners launch their dream companies — take a look

Coss Marte is 31 years old. For a final 3 years he’s been a CEO of ConBody, a prison-style bootcamp that has reached 22 countries and tens of thousands of customers. His story of success is identical to that of many CEOs, solely for one pivotal detail.

Marte didn’t start his business in grad school. He started it in prison.

Marte is a connoisseur of Defy Ventures, a nonprofit that connects prisoners with veteran mentors to assistance them start businesses that can flower once they get expelled behind into society, in a six-month module famous as “CEO of Your New Life.”

On a new Tuesday during Wallkill Correctional Facility in upstate New York, a module was about to strech a healthy finish for 25 “entrepreneurs-in-training,” or EITs. With dreams of apropos a subsequent Coss Marte, a EITs pitched 50 executives on their ideas before a graduation rite honoring their achievement.

Business Insider ventured inside Wallkill to see firsthand how a “Shark Tank”-style foe is granting second chances.
